Itinerary

Day 1 ZAGREB

Welcome to Zagreb, the biggest town and capital of Croatia. Your guide will meet you at the Zagreb Airport and transfer you to your hotel. After you accommodate, we will take you for a pleasant walk in the city centre where you will get the first impression of Zagreb. We are also going to have a Welcome dinner with specialties of the local cuisine in one of Zagreb taverns. Overnight in Zagreb.

Day 2 ZAGREB

After breakfast we are taking you to discover Zagreb, Croatian cultural, scientific, economical and political centre. With numerous museums, galleries, theatres, churches, cafes, open markets, clubs and pubs, Zagreb is today a city pulsing with life. A city which owes its beauty and charm to prosperous periods of baroque, classicism and secession.
Spend your afternoon in one of many interesting museums, take a walk in the Botanical garden or Maksimir Park or just enjoy in a friendly atmosphere which Zagreb offers you. Overnight in Zagreb.

Day 3 ZAGREB – POREČ

Today we head towards Istria – the land of god vine and rich history. On our way to Poreč, we will discover the continental part of Istria – the green oasis with many hills, vineyards and quiet medieval towns. Its landscape is often compared to the one of Tuscany or Provence. We will visit Hum – “the smallest town in the world” and try some of the local specialties in the friendly “Hum tavern”. In the picturesque medieval town Motovun, we will look for Veli Joža – one of the giants, who were building this fortified town according to an old legend. We will end our day in Poreč, the two thousand years old town on the blue coast of Adriatic. Overnight in Poreč.

Day 4 POREČ – ROVINJ – PLITVICE LAKES

This morning we are going to discover Euphrasius Basilica from the 6th century, with its magnificent Byzantine influenced mosaics and from the year 1997. included in the UNESCO's list of World Cultural Monument. On our way back from magical Istria we will visit Rovinj, a pleasant old port and a beautiful coastal town. We will enjoy the stroll along its narrow and cobblestone streets and see the unforgettable panorama of the old town with the bell tower rising above the church of St. Euphemia. We will also stop for a lunch in one of old town taverns and enjoy some more Istrian specialties. We continue our drive to the Plitvice lakes national park – the unique gem of world natural heritage. Overnight at the Lakes.

Day 5 PLITVICE LAKES – SPLIT

We will spend this day enjoying the oldest and the biggest national park in Croatia, a world natural heritage site which is under the UNESCO protection since the 1979. We will hike along the sixteen beautiful and crystal clear lakes with numerous cascades and waterfalls. Enchanted with this unique landscapes we continue our journey to Split – the second biggest city in Croatia and the capital of Dalmatia. After we check into our Hotel, we will take a walk through the heart of Split – the famous Split waterfront or Riva where you will feel the friendly and cozy atmosphere of this vibrant city. Overnight in Split.

Day 6 SPLIT – ŠIBENIK – TROGIR – SPLIT

Today we are taking you for a day trip following the paths of old Croatian towns’ Šibenik and Trogir. Following the footsteps of ancient Romans and accompanied by scents of rosemary and cypress we will get to ancient town Trogir. The old heart of the city, surrounded by walls, with a well preserved castle and tower and by numerous other buildings and palaces dating from Romanesque, gothic and baroque periods, has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage. We continue our trip along the path of old Croatian rulers to the place where wonderful Krka River mouths the Adriatic Sea and to the old Croatian town – Šibenik. We will visit there the unique monument of European sacral architecture – St. Jacobs Cathedral, which has been listed as UNESCO's World Cultural Monument. The Šibenik Cathedral, adorned with 72 stone heads, is the most significant architectural creation in Croatia from 15th and 16th century. At the end of this day, we take you to deserved dinner at typical Dalmatian household where we will enjoy the traditional Dalmatian food and taste some of the world famous Dalmatian vines. Overnight in Split.

Day 7 SPLIT – HVAR

Spend this last morning in Split, taking a walk through the „most beautiful city in the world“, how Split if often called by its citizens. Visit the Diocletian Palace in the heart of Split, built as a residential palace seventeen hundred years ago by the Roman Emperor Diocletian and also a priceless monument included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage. In Split harbor, we will board the ferry for the island Hvar and continue our journey on the sunniest island in Croatia. After we reach Hvar Island, we will visit the old town Stari Grad which is one of the oldest towns in Europe, dating all the way back from ancient Greek times. We’ll see the Stari Grad Plain, an agricultural landscape that was set up by the ancient Greek colonists in the 4th century BC, and remains in use today. The Stari Grad Plain is Croatia's youngest location on the UNESCO World Heritage list. We will end our day in the old renaissance town Hvar. Overnight in Hvar.

Day 8 HVAR

Today is the relaxation day in Hvar. Enojy in this island of vineyards, olive groves and lavender. Enjoy the clean sea, beautiful Pakleni islands near the town Hvar and try some fresh seafood in one of many good restaurants. Overnight in Hvar.

Day 9 HVAR – STON – DUBROVNIK

Today we are leaving Hvar and heading back to the mainland. On our way to Dubrovnik, we will stop at little town Ston on the beginning of the Pelješac peninsula, known for the fortification complex dating from the 14th century and quite unique in its length of 3,5 miles. The Ston area is also known for a great seafood especially oysters which are grown in the Little Ston bay. In the evening, we will arrive to Dubrovnik and check into our Hotel. You can spend the rest of your evening getting the first impressions of Dubrovnik. Overnight in Dubrovnik.

Day 10 DUBROVNIK

This whole day is reserved for exploring and enjoying in our Pearl of Adriatic – the old town Dubrovnik. The great George Bernard Shaw wrote: „Those who seek paradise on Earth must come to Dubrovnik“and he was as many others overjoyed by the beauty and rich history of this old town under the UNESCO protection. Its glorious walls, with their fortresses and bastions, offer a unique walk with view of the magical Elafiti islands. From the Onofrio fountain to the City bell tower, along its main street, Stradun and in many other small and quiet cobblestone streets, every step in this town will be an experience par excellence. As this is our last night on this journey we are taking you for a farewell dinner in one of Dubrovnik’s taverns. Overnight in Dubrovnik.

Day 11 DUBROVNIK

Today is the last day of our tour. After breakfast, your guide will drive you to Dubrovnik Airport where you are expecting your flight back home. We wish you a safe journey and we hope that you will always gladly remember Croatia and have great memories of these eleven days spent with us. Goodbye!
